I’m Breathing Again

It’s been a couple of horrible days for me. My dog had some kind of small growth on his leg, and as he had a Lymphoma a few years ago, and me being a totally panicking type, I was afraid that it has come back.I can’t describe how worried I was.

Today we took Meda to the vet, and he said that it was just an infection. OMG I feel so relieved! I could cry now! I will open a bottle of wine later to celebrate.

Before all this I have been very busy making books and jewelry as many of my pieces were sold. Yay! 🙂 But I did manage to find time to play a bit and alter a book, my first one actually. I chose to add some old photos of Belgrade, and the rest of the book I just painted and decorated a bit because I wanted it to be more like a journal. I like how it turned out.

I think I can relax now, make art and wait for the middle of August to go to Greece for a holiday. I SOOO need that!

Have a great day/night everyone! xo!

All Different

Despite the horribly hot weather (with temperatures up to 50C) I’ve been busy making books, journals and albums. What else could I do? 🙂

Here is another recycling project:

As I was saying in my last post, I have so many papers of all kinds, making it harder and harder to find what I want in my ‘not very well organized’ studio. So why not making a nice book/journal?

It would be great as a travel journal. Ohh, Greece, just one more month and I’m coming to you! LOL!

I also made this mini album:

And my first Art Journal is finished! Filled up with my writing, quotes, splashes of paint, ugly pages and not so ugly ones. 🙂

I have two more journals that I work in from time to time, and a sketch book that needs a bit more attention, lol! And although I am not quite sure any of my journals should be called and Art journal, or maybe a journal/smash/trash book, it doesn’t matter as long as I’m having fun playing in them.

That’s it for today. I hope you are having a great week! xo!

Recycling

Hello bloggers!

As I promised in my last post, I made something with junk mail! I seem to work “seriously” over the week, and mostly play on the weekends. Didn’t think of that before, but now I see the pattern. 🙂 And that’s ok, because that’s what weekends are for, right?

Anyway, I wanted to make something with all those envelopes I have been collecting, and a ton of papers from all kinds of sources – junk mail, catalogs etc. But the most important thing was that I had some photos from about ten years ago, photos that are not very good but still they are a memory of that particular moment, and even though some of them are blurry or maybe boring, I couldn’t throw them away. And finally I found a place for them!

A simple album that cost me no money at all, and was fast to make. It needs a few more embellishments, but I will do that later, because I will be adding more photos to it. It was so fun, and I’m glad I helped our Earth at least a tiny bit. 🙂

Not bad, eh? 🙂

Hand Stitched

I bet many of you have the same “problem” as I do – I can’t even watch TV without doing something. I always have two baskets with me in the living room, one with ‘work in progress’ crochet, and one with yarn and crochet hooks. But I often bring more stuff, like thread and fabric scraps and beads, so it gets a bit messy. 🙂 And now it’s like a bomb site! But I have two books to show that it was worth it! 🙂

This one is about 6×9 inches, and it’s made with cotton fabric, silk, crocheted lace, pearls etc. And of course, my handmade paper.

And the back

I also made another twinchie book. Couldn’t throw away even the tiniest pieces of silk and lace, so I decided to make this:

Lovely little thing. 🙂 I sold quite a few of them, people seem to understand what they are, and that makes me happy.

I hope to finish another book over the weekend, a recycling project. There were too many papers in my craft room that I seemed to have no use for. Well, I do now! 🙂 It’s a great feeling to make something with unwanted things, or just junk. Which reminds me, I also have some envelopes from bills and stuff like that, and next time hopefully I will show you what I did with them. 🙂

Have fun! xo!

New Creations

Even though it’s extremely hot here in my little corner of the world with temperatures going up to 39 C, I have been “in the mood” for creating, and I love it! There is nothing better than making pretty things. 🙂 So here are some of my creations.

A very light and slightly sparkly scarf:

It took me some time to finish it because I chose a very fine yarn to work with, but it was worth the pain. 🙂

I also made an album in brown and gold tones.

And a Birthday card, made with recycled cardboard, acrylic paint, handmade paper and old lace:

And there is more, but I think it’s enough for this post. 🙂

Have a wonderful day!
