While I was writing my last blog post these two pretties were almost complete. So now that I finished them I can show you how they look.
First an altered book:
I used fabric, gel medium, modelling paste and acrylic paint to make the cover look like this, and I’m very happy with the result.
I sewed and distressed the pages and added lace and other bits to them:
The other one is a fabric journal, with a heart (of course). 🙂
Lots and lots of stitching:
And the inside:
Have a great day! 🙂
To be honest, I don’t care much about Valentines Day. I think that every day should be a “Love” day, so why celebrating it once a year? But, I had to make some little things for the shop (the one that sells my work here in Belgrade), so I made these. 🙂
Hearts everywhere! 🙂
I love making hearts. All year round. 🙂
As I promised in my last post, I made something with junk mail! I seem to work “seriously” over the week, and mostly play on the weekends. Didn’t think of that before, but now I see the pattern. 🙂 And that’s ok, because that’s what weekends are for, right?
Anyway, I wanted to make something with all those envelopes I have been collecting, and a ton of papers from all kinds of sources – junk mail, catalogs etc. But the most important thing was that I had some photos from about ten years ago, photos that are not very good but still they are a memory of that particular moment, and even though some of them are blurry or maybe boring, I couldn’t throw them away. And finally I found a place for them!
A simple album that cost me no money at all, and was fast to make. It needs a few more embellishments, but I will do that later, because I will be adding more photos to it. It was so fun, and I’m glad I helped our Earth at least a tiny bit. 🙂
Not bad, eh? 🙂
Even though it’s extremely hot here in my little corner of the world with temperatures going up to 39 C, I have been “in the mood” for creating, and I love it! There is nothing better than making pretty things. 🙂 So here are some of my creations.
A very light and slightly sparkly scarf:
It took me some time to finish it because I chose a very fine yarn to work with, but it was worth the pain. 🙂
I also made an album in brown and gold tones.
And a Birthday card, made with recycled cardboard, acrylic paint, handmade paper and old lace:
And there is more, but I think it’s enough for this post. 🙂
Have a wonderful day!
I know, I know, I went totally crazy with lace and flowers, but I just felt like making this. Why not? I can make something too girly if I want to, right? 🙂
Have a wonderful day! 🙂
Here is my latest creation, a handwoven lace scarf, made with cotton and viscose, with a little bit of shimmer. (well, that’s almost a must for me lately).
The colors are much brighter than they are in the photo, and you can’t see the shimmer but it’s there! 🙂
This little thing will add color and texture to any outfit. I’m very satisfied how it turned out.
Another great thing that happened today was something that came in the mail – a book by Rebekah Meier “More Fabric Art Collage” that I won on her blog giveaway.
This book is amazing! It is filled with tons of techniques and ideas for making gorgeous art with all kinds of materials! Paper, fabric, clay, stamps, dyes, metal etc.
I will enjoy reading it and learning from this book. Thank you Rebekah!
Then I received gorgeous bookmarks from Dorothy, as part of a “Bookmark Swap, Love Faith Hope” at Milliande’s:
And here are my ATCs made for “Gypsy ATC Swap” at Milliande’s:
Have a great day everyone! 🙂
I am very lucky to be given the opportunity to sell my albums and other pretty things in the best part of Belgrade – the “Skadarlia Street” or often called “Bohemian Street”. If you’re looking for traditional Serbian food, galleries full of amazing art, beautiful cafes, and just great atmosphere, you should come to Skadarlia Street. A lovely and very talented lady is opening a shop in a few days, and she asked me if I would like to sell my stuff there. I mean, how could I refuse an offer like that! 🙂
So, I have been busy making albums, and they are all inspired by Spring! Bright colors, flowers, glitter, feathers…I am having so much fun! In fact, the “look” of my new albums is maybe even too bright and romantic than what I usually make, but I couldn’t help it. Blame the sunshine and blooming trees, lol!
Here is the first one, and I’ll post photos of other albums some other day because it would be just too much for one post. 🙂
And that’s the first one. I hope you like it. 🙂
I almost forgot that today is my Blogaversary! I can’t believe that the whole year passed so quickly! OMG! And what a great year it was! I am having so much fun here, sharing with you my creations and bits of my life. So it’s giving time, and I would love to give to one of you the purse/makeup bag I created a while ago.
This purse was made with machine stitched navy blue fabric, lace, and painted plastic bags. Unusual and unique. I hope you like it. And if you do, just leave a comment here on my blog, and I will randomly pick the winner on Tuesday, March 13th. 🙂
I also wanted to share with you my latest (and already SOLD) album. I forgot to post photos of it earlier, and I really love how it turned out, so here it is now!
I used thin corrugated cardboard for the covers, and very thin cardboard for the pages. Everything was first painted with several coats of acrylic paint, and then I added lots of lovely scrapbook papers, bling, puff paint, feathers, lace, and other things. I love it! And tomorrow it’s flying to US! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by! I still can’t believe it’s been a year since I started this journey. 🙂
Have a wonderful day!
To tell you the truth, I am experiencing another horrible “lack of inspiration” period, so very little has been done here in my studio for the past two weeks. A tag here, an album page there, but nothing really finished. But, as from tonight, I say it is over! I’m going to get my self back on track, one way or the other! 🙂 And hopefully I will finish this journal:
Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
I am happy happy happy! I finished this journal last night, and I have to say I am very satisfied with it! It is so ‘Me’! Although I do like to play and to explore other styles, this type of journal is definitely my style. The colors, the fraying, different fabrics used to create texture, I mean, I love it!
I used various fabrics, from organza to tea dyed cotton, handmade paper, heavy weight paper, hand and machine stitching. It also has a pocket inside with some tags and a little booklet made with tea dyed paper for additional writing or other memories.
I think I will have to start making another one right away! These beauties are so addictive! 🙂
