I bet many of you have the same “problem” as I do – I can’t even watch TV without doing something. I always have two baskets with me in the living room, one with ‘work in progress’ crochet, and one with yarn and crochet hooks. But I often bring more stuff, like thread and fabric scraps and beads, so it gets a bit messy. π And now it’s like a bomb site! But I have two books to show that it was worth it! π
This one is about 6×9 inches, and it’s made with cotton fabric, silk, crocheted lace, pearls etc. And of course, my handmade paper.
A handstitched detail
Paper and yarn mixed together
A bit of poetry
And the back
I also made another twinchie book. Couldn’t throw away even the tiniest pieces of silk and lace, so I decided to make this:
Lovely little thing. π I sold quite a few of them, people seem to understand what they are, and that makes me happy.
I hope to finish another book over the weekend, a recycling project. There were too many papers in my craft room that I seemed to have no use for. Well, I do now! π It’s a great feeling to make something with unwanted things, or just junk. Which reminds me, I also have some envelopes from bills and stuff like that, and next time hopefully I will show you what I did with them. π
Have fun! xo!
Those are absolutely gorgeous!!! What an inspiration!
Thank you so much! π
Beautiful as always Sonja. π I start dragging stuff everywhere too. After awhile I need to go through the house and return stuff to its rightful place. I’m sure it makes my husband crazy!
Deb, I know what you’re talking about. I hate when I have to put everything back, and each time I promise my self I won’t bring things to the living room anymore, but I do it again. And again. π
Those are beautiful! Very creative π
Thank you! π
Oh yes. Our house is a 75 square metre granny flat which I LOVE! But I love clutter and he doesn’t…who so he says! I do have an outside shed to do my stuff in but there are always stacks of things to keep me busy inside as well. However…none of my things are as beautiful as yours. Sigh and hope wishfully…
Bonnie, we have about the same size of living space, except the shed. So you know how things can be “relocated” throughout the house. Well, the apartment in my case. π But with all the dog toys on top of everything else…:)
You are so creative! Love your books. it makes them so nice with handmade paper.
Thank you dear! π
I love these books!
Thank you!
OH MY WORD! i THINK i NEED A LESSON ON ORGANISATION FROM YOU. wE DON’T HAVE A DOG BUT TWO CATS OF OUR OWN AND A REGULAR VISITING ONE FROM THE NEIGHBOUR. Ooops…caps lock was on!! The neighbour’s cat is currently asleep on my chair…I think he likes it here!
Bonnie my dream is to have a house and two dogs and at least two cats! Well, maybe it’s better this way because I am sure the number of pets would sky rocket!
You have a worm and loving home, that’s why the neighbour’s cat hangs out with you. People say it’s a good luck when an animal comes to you. π
I wish I did have your problem of needing to do something creative,,but unfortunately I am usually so tired I fall asleep.
Mary that’s because you do so much during the day! π
Love all the texture and trimmings you include in your books. When I am looking for inspiration, I know I can come here and find it. Your work shows such personality and spirit. Thank you for sharing your work with all of us. Hugs, patty
Patty thank you so much for your kind words! It’s the best reward for me! π
