The purple scarf from my previous post is finished, and I was clever enough to make a warp for two! So now I have another one, but as you will see they are totally different. The warp was very “open” and it allowed me to play with the weft and to achieve a different end result. But what I like best is that both scarves are light and airy, almost weightless. 🙂
Here they are before washing and ironing:
And here is how they look after washing:
There was just a slight “shift” in yarn, another “surprise moment” I told you about in my previous post, but the scarves are still very lacy and I’m very satisfied how they look. Mohair is so lovely to work with, it “sticks” very nicely and gives the fluffy look with (as I said) almost no weight. It did make a mess while I was weaving, leaving lumps of fibers all over my studio, but after washing, it’s pure delight!
Here is a “European knot”:
So, what do you think? 🙂
Oh, I almost forgot! Here is my first try at “Mandala”. I was so inspired by Kalona’s work and had to try it my self, although I’m not sure I should have doodled that much. 🙂 Please check Kalona’s blog, she is unbelievable talented! You will be hooked as I am! 🙂
