It’s time for traveling! We are going to visit the parents, travel to Slovenia, go to the mountains (no matter how bad the weather might be), and hopefully have a wonderful time! Yay! We have almost three weeks for all that, and with hubby working long hours lately, this is exactly what we needed. Time for fun and to just be together.
So I made a big bag for moi, and a small bag to go inside of a big one, for makeup and other lady’s things that a lady needs on her travels. 🙂
And a small one
I also made a travel journal, or better say I decorated a journal I made some time ago, added things to the cover, and a bit on the inside, just to make it more interesting. I didn’t have the time to make a completely new one, so this little thing came in handy. I like it.
It needs a title, which will be “Slovenia 2014”. 🙂
It’s small, 6×3,5 inches, but it’s big enough for a five days trip.
That’s it for now! See you soon! 🙂
Strange weather here. Yesterday was very hot, and today was cold and rainy. And I am never in a good mood when it’s dark and cloudy. I need sunshine to keep me motivated and inspired, so nothing much was done today. Except for a couple of small leather books. I even made a necklace using one book, which is not something I usually do, but I had to try. It turned out not too bad.
It’s tiny, only about an inch high. I am sorry I didn’t take a better photo, as it has my handmade papers inside, and with a love poem or something else written in it, it would be just perfect. But I will do that some other day.
And here are my latest journal pages:
I used the same quotes in my journal as I used for the bookmarks I made for the Swap at Milliande’s.
I made these couple of days ago, and they are on their way to England. The theme was “Love, Faith and Hope”, and to be honest, I had no idea what to make at first. I even threw away one set of bookmarks because I wasn’t satisfied how they turned out. Then, as I was making some stamps, I decided to use them in this project, and in just half an hour or so, the bookmarks were finished! I painted some recycled cardboard, decoupaged text, played with my stamps, added a few touches with pen here and there, and voila! Happy me. 🙂
I hope you had a great weekend! 🙂
I’ve joined another swap at Milliande’s, and this time it’s a “Heart Pin Swap”. But for some reason I immediately started thinking about books, books with hearts, books in shape of a heart, etc. So, following my inspiration, I made my first batch:
Suede, handmade paper, wire hearts, fabric hearts and puff paint. Cute little books.
All they need now is a love message or a poem to be written in them. 🙂
I’m supposed to be packing for my trip to US. I will be leaving on Friday, and haven’t started packing at all! Instead, I’m making inchies! How crazy is that! But the inchies I’ve made almost a month ago for “Inchie Fall/Halloween Quilt Swap” at Milliande’s that Lois is hosting, still haven’t reach their destination. So I decided to make new ones, just in case…And to be honest, I am not extremely satisfied with them, but I just can’t concentrate well enough, I’m torn between my need to create and the excitement about this trip. It has been a dream for me to go to America, and now I have a chance to do that! A dear friend of mine asked me to come and visit her for a month, so I couldn’t refuse! 🙂 Yet, this swap is so interesting and fun, I didn’t want to miss it so I had to make more inchies. Anyway, here they are:
I don’t think any of them really has anything to do with Halloween, but except the white one which I made as a gift for Lois, others are at least done in Autumn colors, right? 🙂 The two middle ones were made with handwoven fabric and in that way are very much “Me”. And there are flowers and dragonflies and butterflies in Autumn, right? 🙂
