My Sizzix Coat

From drab to fab! 🙂

Well, the photos are not very good, but you will be able to see the difference.  My very old coat, which was very much loved and used, was at first a long one, then I cut it just above the knees and wore it for a couple more years. After that I decided that it was not fashionable anymore, and forgot about it.

But no, I don’t throw away things easily. 🙂 I even kept the fabric that was cut off! And recently, I decided to play with it. I used Sizzix Tattered Florals Die to make the flowers, Tattered Leaves Die for the leaves (of course),and also several of my crocheted flowers, and beads. I attached them to the collar and the sleeves, and the coat looks very pretty now! Well, at least to me. 🙂

It took me many hours to do this, but it was worth it.

Because it is an old coat I could play with no fear of ruining it, but in the end it turned out great and I’m going to wear it again! That’s how I am – when I buy something I really like, I have no intentions on getting rid of it until it’s completely destroyed.

Another successful project. Me happy. 🙂

Have a great day/evening everyone!

Shawls and Pumpkins

Two more shawls are done, and now I only need to wash and iron them.

They were made with the same warp, but with different weft yarn so I got two different shawls. They are so soft and warm, and this twill is one of my favorite patterns, which all means I am very satisfied how they turned out.

Because my back gets painful with all this weaving going on, I like to relax on the couch and make some small things (of course I can’t just watch TV, that would be like a waste of time for me,lol!), so I crocheted these cute little pumpkins.

I stuffed them with leftover yarn, and added sequins and beads around the “stem” to add a bit of a sparkle. 🙂 They are 3,5 and 2,5 inches wide and I LOVE them! I think I will make more to give to friends. What’s best about them is that they are fast and easy to make.

And here is another Journal page good enough to be shown publicly 🙂

Have a great day! 🙂

The Fall is Here

Well, I can’t say I am extremely excited about that, but ok. After Summer comes the Fall and I can’t stop it. Not that I hate Fall, I must admit it has some nice moments every year (lol), but when I think about falling leaves, falling, staying on the ground, not green on trees…you get the idea. 🙂 I am definitely a Spring person. Oh, that time of the year when everything is coming to life, the anticipation in the air, waiting for leaves and flowers to start popping out, that’s what I love!

But, I must say today was a lovely day, sunny and warm. Thank you Mother Nature. 🙂 So we went out for a nice walk.

I saw a leaf that looked like an Angel. Although my husband said it looked like an airplane. He is a pilot, so there’s an explanation. 🙂

And these bugs look like they have an African mask on their back. Wonderful!

Have a great weekend! 🙂

I’m having so much fun at Milliande’s ,I even signed up for another swap, and this time it’s Inchies! The theme is “Fall/Halloween Quilt Swap”, and this is my first time making these. To be honest, I haven’t heard for them until I joined “The Needle Queens” group. And of course I had to give it a try. At first I wasn’t sure I would be able to make them, because they are so small! But as I started, it turned out to be fairly easy. And they are so much fun! So here are my first creations:

Only one inch! Can you believe that? Ok, you probably can, but I am still excited about them. I think I might make some more! Maybe a few for Christmas. Small ornaments! Or a brooch! Or even some to give to my friends! Sooo cute! Ok, ok I’ll calm down. 🙂

Here is another thing I’m working on. It’s a journal/album cover (we’ll see what it will be), and it’s made with recycled cardboard (of course). There is still some work to be done on the cover before I start making pages, but this is how it looks at the moment. I love how sturdy this cardboard is. Great to play with!

So, enough playing, it’s time to do some work! My loom is waiting! 🙂
