Relaxing

No, unfortunately I am not on the beach or in the mountains. 🙂 But there are many ways to relax, and one of them (at least for me) is to play in Art Journal. You know, when nothing extremely exciting is happening in real life, I can always play with fabric, paper and paint and have fun.

So this time I have some journal pages to show you, which were done fairly quickly and with what ever junk I had on my desk – yarn, pieces of textured paper that I couldn’t throw away, paper that I used to clean my stamps on, etc. These are not my best pages ever, but they were done without too much thinking, in a very relaxing way, and it felt so good. 🙂

The letters are for “The sea” – now you know what I’m dreaming about!

“One day I will have a house and a garden”:

These pages are all from my mini art journal, about the size of a postcard.

My favorite page, “Sisters”:

I think I have six or seven Art Journals that I’m currently working in, and they are all different size and with different papers inside. All of them are (of course) handmade by moi. Handmade paper, watercolor paper, newspapers, cereal boxes, junk mail, anything you can think of, I’ve made a journal out of it. And I love trying out different techniques in them, seeing what medium goes best with this or that type of paper, making mistakes and not caring about them. It’s just wonderful! 🙂

Oh yes, and a huge book is soon going to be altered and turned into yet another Art Journal! Do I need it? Of course not! But I want it, and so I will make it! I buy more glue than nail polish, and more yarn and paint than clothes, but it makes me happy! 🙂

Have a great day/night everyone!

Journal Pages

Not too much done lately, just three pages. My art journal is a bit neglected. But the good thing is that I finally did my first collage. 🙂

Beginner’s work, but I like it.

Then a page done with crayons and candy wrappers:

And trying to draw a face.

I tried and tried to make it look realistic, and this was the best I could do. Not very good. But, I must be satisfied because it’s my second time doing this. And to be honest, it’s not something I really really like to do. I just wanted to see if I had any talent, and I guess I don’t. It’s ok. I’m fine with that. 🙂

Also, there is a great giveaway at http://craftyindividualsblog.blogspot.co.uk/!

Journal Pages

Hello everyone!

As you could see from my last two posts, I had a wonderful time in Rome. The only problem is that ten days was not enough! I will have to go there again. 🙂 (well, I can hope, right?)

But now I’m home, and I am so ready to play with paint! Which is probably not good because I have so much work! News is that I have to deliver not 30 shawls, but 24. That’s for ladies. But now I have to weave 30 more for men! So I will probably eat and sleep in my studio. LOL!

Anyway, until I have some nice photos of scarves and shawls to show you, here are my finally finished journal pages:

And one unfinished page:

My “Rome” journal:

The next photo shows my utterly horrible drawing, but since I decided to be brave and to show more of my drawing and painting (letting go of my “I am not good at this” fears), I will show you this one. Please don’t laugh. Loudly. 🙂

And that’s all for this post. Have a great day/night! 🙂

Saying Hello from Rome!

I was trying for almost half an hour to write how I feel and what I saw here in Rome so far, but I couldn’t find the right words. The history, architecture and art in this town is just incredible! So here are some of the photos I took that, sadly, can’t show well enough the beauty of Rome. And I still haven’t been to the Colosseum and Vatican. I have five more days to visit those and some other places, and I can’t wait! 🙂

Throwing a coin in the Trevi Fountain, over my left shoulder, as it should be done. 🙂

Have a nice day! 🙂
